Day of Prayer

Sowing Seeds of Revival

authored by Jonathan

Every 16th of the month Acts 29 Fellowship gathers to spend the day in prayer and worship. This month our prayers focused on a heart cry to see an awakening and revival inside our city. We long to witness the transformation of our own fellowship and the world around us through divine visitation. We long to experience the life-changing manifestation of God’s presence in a new way.

Our prayers moved through four principles that came out of the 1949 Lewis Awakening experienced in the British Isles. The supernatural sweeping of thousands of people and whole communities into saving grace was a sovereign act of God. His instrument was 26 year old Duncan Campbell. Our prayer is that we could be such an instrument for God and experience the presence of God in such a way that our city is miraculously changed by its encounter with a living and holy God.

As we prayed through these principles God led us to scripture and brought us to places of conviction and places of faith in the Holy Spirit.

1.) Rightly Related to God

When we are in a right relationship with God, we will be in a right relationship with each other.

2.) Conviction that God would keep His covenant engagements.

What are God’s covenant engagements for our time? God has called us here with a promise that we can claim and has given us a vision that we know He will fulfill.

3.) Be Prepared for God to work in His own way.

It’s so easy to create formatting and a DNA that limits God’s arrival. We should be prepared to be “hands free” in the sovereign act of the Lord.

4.) There must be a manifestation of God, demonstrating the reality of the Divine in operation.

There must be a separation of our efforts and God’s work. Ask God for a Mount Carmel experience where His power is demonstrated to all and we can challenge our city to let the God who answers by fire be God.

The presence of God was manifest as we moved from confession of places of hardheartedness between ourselves and others and ourselves and God to a place of faith and worship. Please pray with us as we hunger for the Holy Spirit to bring a real reviving and awakening in our city. We are desperate to see God bring a deep heart knowledge of His presence to the people of Hamtramck, drawing them in even as the Holy Spirit convicts of sin and righteousness and judgment. Please pray with us as we humble ourselves and ask that God would come down and heal our land.

revival.”

Nothing but a Holy Spirit revival will meet the desperate need of the hour

The 16th of every month at Acts 29 is a unique day. It is a day of rest, a day of refreshment, a day of re-focusing on the Lord.

The 16th is Acts 29′s monthly day of corporate prayer and fasting. All ministries are canceled for the day and everyone gathers together to pray, to worship and to hear from the Lord.

We often spend much time in personal prayer as well.
