Urban Ministry

“Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.” -Psalm 71:18b

Urban life is radically different from Suburban life. The sights, sounds and even the smells are different. The people are different and the community has different needs. Urban life might be characterized by constant activity and liveliness on the one hand, and then on the other it might also be characterized by desolation and lifelessness.

We seek to be a fellowship that uses all the giftings and callings of God to meet the needs of our community and bring the life of Jesus Christ into Urban life. We are passionate about worship and missions.

“The man who loves God, is known by God.” -1 Corinthians 8:3

Come Worship with us! We meet every Sunday @ 10:30 AM at 12101 Joseph Campau

What is Worship?

Worship is expressing your heart to God through various means. God loves to be worshiped. His worshipers are called to gather together and celebrate who He is.

Acts 29 believes that worship should be the center of every believer’s life and that everything we do should flow from our worship. So our acts of service, our care for others, our actions that do what is right and our ability to proclaim the truth all should flow out of a heart that worships Jesus.

Are you hungry to worship? Come, join us!

Urban Ministry

Urban people have different needs than others. Many struggle with financial poverty or strain, single motherhood, drug and alcohol abuse, neglect, and unemployment. Mark 2:17 states that Jesus came to heal the sick, not the well. A festering wound with a tiny band-aid, may be an accurate description of inner-city impoverished life. A people crying for help with no one coming to really heal their problems.

Acts 29 believes that Jesus sent them to the city of Hamtramck to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Hands that heal, love and give, and feet that lead, teach and disciple. Jesus is the only answer for the urban problem. Jesus is the only one who can recreate the heart of a man, woman, or child.

Jesus is the only one that can give new life to something otherwise dying.

Urban ministry is challenging, but worth the cost to bring the healing hope of Christ to a people so that they might have life and have it abundantly.
